This month, my wife and I went to check out Canvas Club, a small bar and restaurant at the very end of Logan Rd, in Woolloongabba. It’s an interesting end of the street with some great restaurants and bars.

Canvas Club is a small, intimate, well stocked cocktail bar with soft lighting and booths for those who are after something a little more intimate. Besides a small but interesting wine list and a comprehensive back bar of spirits, it carries a range of craft beers including, of course, Ballistic.

Food at Canvas Club is about share boards and tapas - small 2 portion plates, perfect to try a range of different menu items with your partner. I ate plenty and walked out feeling content but comfortable.

From our table, we watched the bar tender making magic with the cocktail shaker. He turned out to be our waiter, knowledgeable but fun, efficient and unobtrusive.

If you are around that end of town, I would certainly recommend dropping into Canvas for a cocktail or a light meal and a Ballistic beer. And if you need a little more action afterwards, you can walk two doors down and grab another beer at Easy Times brewery.
